Is justice really blind or has police reform started?

Periodically we examine conservative media outlets and pundits to get their take on social protests and trials happening around the nation. The conservative think tanks were on fire with 18-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse, who was on trial in Kenosha, Wis. for first-degree intentional homicide, first-degree reckless homicide, first-degree attempted intentional homicide and two counts of first-degree reckless endangerment of the fatal shooting of Joseph Rosenbaum, 36, Anthony Huber, 26, and injuring Gaige Grosskreutz, 26. Rosenbaum was unarmed, yet Rittenhouse shot him four times, as Rosenbaum was falling to the ground. The trial had both conservative and liberal mainstream media networks giving opinions and commentary on the differential treatment within the justice system between European americans and people of color. The debate of police interactions between both European americans and people of color has escalated since millions witnessed Rittenhouse strolling past law enforcement vehicles with an AR-15 semiautomatic.

Several years back, a report by the Federal Bureau of Investigation has revealed that individuals sympathetic to white supremacist groups have infiltrated police agencies. While this is astounding to Americans that can not go beyond an individuals skin pigmentation, this report only justify the cries for equal rights and blind justice from communities with a large ethnic population. Many conservative and liberal media outlets have downplayed the terrorists threat that these radical white supremacists groups have on american homeland security since a majority of European americans deem law enforcement as being good and people of color as corrupt. The mindset of a majority of European immigrants towards Native Americans, Hispanics, Asians and Africans is drenched with bigotry, racism, violence, intolerance and negative stereotypes. Rep. Jamie Raskin, the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, released the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) 2006 report entitled, “White Supremacist Infiltration of Law Enforcement.” while this report may shock citizens living outside of urban communities, citizens have known since the civil rights and black power movement that law enforcement have used counter intelligence, surveillance techniques, blackmail, violence and murder to neutralize political, social and labor leadership. The report details:

• (U//LES) Although white supremacist groups have historically engaged in

strategic efforts to infiltrate and recruit from law enforcement communities,

current reporting on attempts reflects self-initiated efforts by individuals,

particularly among those already within law enforcement ranks, to volunteer their professional resources to white supremacist causes with which they sympathize.

• (U//LES) The primary threat from infiltration or recruitment arises from the areas of intelligence collection and exploitation, which can lead to

investigative breaches and can jeopardize the safety of law enforcement sources and personnel.

• (U//LES) White supremacist presence among law enforcement personnel is

a concern due to the access they may possess to restricted areas vulnerable

to sabotage and to elected officials or protected persons, whom they could

see as potential targets for violence. In addition, white supremacist infiltration of law enforcement can result in other abuses of authority and passive tolerance of racism within communities served.

• (U//LES) The intelligence acquired through the successful infiltration of law enforcement by one white supremacist group can benefit other groups due to the multiple allegiances white supremacists typically hold.

The forum is now open to discuss methods for police reform and elimination of white supremacists personnel in police agencies. Will voting out and replacing politicians and local lawmakers make a difference? Should a police citizen review board be installed in every major city in America? Should families be awarded compensation for convicted police officers?
